Created from found footage which I manipulated in realtime in the CalArts Videographics lab, using analog synthesizers and fx processors. This is an edit from those realtime-generated animations.
The sound is the "sound of the Big Bang," created by translating the math of the birth of the universe into audio signals - by John G. Cramer.

To create this strata-cut animation, I planed down a block of wood one layer at a time, photographing it at each pass. The painstaking process revealed a hidden life and motion in the seemingly static grain of the wood, even as the wood itself was reduced to a mound of sawdust.
